Can I borrow a laptop and hotspot from the library?
Answer
The PCC Library offers two types of laptop lending for PCC students: 4-hour Chromebook checkouts, and semester-long Chromebook or Windows laptop checkouts.
1. Four-hour Chromebook checkout: You may check out a Chromebook for four hours at a kiosk (vending machine) located on the Main Level of the PCC Library. Simply swipe your Lancer Card ID at the kiosk, and a Chromebook will be dispensed. You may take the Chromebook anywhere on campus! Please return the Chromebook to the kiosk before your four hours are up.
2. Semester-long checkout of laptops: The library currently has laptops and Chromebooks for semester loan at no cost to students. These are a limited supply and are first-come, first served. Checkout instructions are below.
3. Hotspots: Hotspots are out of stock for the Fall 2023 semester.
Hotspot note: If you previously checked out a hotspot from us in the 2022-23 school year, it will function until June 30, 2024, and does not need to be returned to us. You will not be able to check out a new hotspot. If you have not already checked out a hotspot, a limited supply is available to borrow.
To check out a device for the semester from the PCC Library:
