Can I borrow a laptop and hotspot from the library?

Answer

The PCC Library offers two types of laptop lending for PCC students: one-day Chromebook checkouts, and semester-long Chromebook or Windows laptop checkouts.

1. Short-term Chromebook checkout: You may check out a Chromebook for the day at the Lab Desk on the lower level of the Library. You may take the Chromebook anywhere on campus. Please return the Chromebook to the Library before we close for the day. Checkout instructions are below.

2. Semester-long checkout of laptops: The library currently has Chromebooks and Windows laptops for semester loan to currently enrolled students at no cost. These are a limited supply and are first-come, first served. Checkout instructions are below.

To check out a device for the semester from the PCC Library:

  • Fill out the Electronic Device Borrowing Agreement
  • Bring your Lancer Card ID or a physical California I.D. / Driver's License
    • NOTE: Devices will not be loaned without proper identification
  • Go to the Lab Desk on the lower level of the Library.
  • Devices are available on a first-come, first-serve basis. They cannot be reserved ahead of time.
    • One (1) laptop or Chromebook per student only.

Internet hotspots are currently not available for checkout.
